In January, Christy broke down some of the costs involved in remodeling our kitchen. There was a lot of work that went into this 4 month project, so I wanted to get a better view of our total cost.
I went back through our credit card statements because I wanted to capture every thing from screws, to lumber, to appliances. There are lot of little things that nickle and dime’d this project. I held on to all the receipts for a couple of months with the plan to detail everything out, but there were so many and they were hard to determine with the generic descriptions on the receipts.
So, without further ado. Drum roll please...
The grand total from all the trips to Lowes, Home Depot, Benjamin Moore, Wayfair, and The Woodworks, that built our doors and peninsula cabinets, the grand total was…$17,689.75. Approximately.
It could be slightly higher than that because I didn’t add in any charges from Amazon, but I don’t believe Christy bought anything from Amazon for the project.
Regardless, we met our budget on remodeling our kitchen. Christy didn’t want to go above $15,000, excluding the appliances. With our appliances totaling $4,042.98, I’d say we accomplished that.
Looking back, we are lucky we did this project when we did. With lumber at an all time high, we may have exceeded $20,000 if we had waited.
