Ahhh. The holidays are over. Everyone had a great Christmas and New Years.
We were able to take the kids bowling and over to The Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia. If you are from the area, we recommend checking out the Invisible World of Water on snow flakes. We’ve all seen the ornate depictions of snow flakes, but it’s crazy that they look like that for reals. Nature is amazing.
The week came with an unexpected surprise as well. Even though Christmas was over, we all got a last minute present. You got it…COVID.
The middle boy started getting a sore throat and we fell like dominoes after that. Christy took a test on Saturday and it came up positive. I was the last to fall, feeling it on Monday morning.
On the plus side, it was pretty mild. The little kids are all better and Christy and I are getting better. We don’ like being sick, but we’ve had worse.
It’s crazy how it affects people differently. Not everyone had the same symptoms and the youngest got over it the fastest. You would think that their immune systems wouldn’t be as strong so they would fight it for longer. Nope. We are grateful for that though.
That is the reason why this post is so late. We haven’t really been up to doing anything other than lay on the couch and watch 100,000 Pyramid and The Hustler.
In savings this month we saved our normal $500, plus an additional $2,200 from the child tax credit, etc. We earned $3.98 in interest. We did have to pay out $3,453 in bills though.
In vacation we saved our normal $300, an additional $250 from Christmas gifts, and .70 cents in interest.
