Our Thanksgiving deadline has come and gone, but we’re still not done with the kitchen remodel. The good news is that we can wrap everything up by Christmas. So, one more month of work, and we’ll be finished with this never-ending project.
Although the whole process has taken much, much longer than expected, John and I are so happy with the results. The paint color is perfect. The cabinet hardware is so sleek and modern. The white backsplash is so clean and bright. We love it!
What do we have left to complete? We noticed a problem with our new flooring, and the company wants to replace it. We’re waiting on the installation of the new floor, so that John can finally install the floor/corner moldings. I am still painting cabinet doors and will be for the next few weeks. We don’t have the space to paint everything at once, so it has been a slooooooow process. Finally, we are going to install an under-cabinet hood over the stove. This project is already well underway, and should be done this weekend.
We’re definitely in the home stretch. The great part about this phase of the project is that our kitchen is functional again. We can wash dishes and cook dinner! As you can imagine, this has greatly reduced the stress level in our house. We can’t wait to finish this project and show you the amazing before and after photographs. For fun, here is a sneak peek of our completed peninsula…
