With the coronavirus quarantine in full effect here, all Easter egg hunts have been cancelled. Fortunately for us, the police department decided to hold a Easter door decorating contest! I knew the kids would love to participate. So earlier this week, we threw together a plan and got to work.
The process took a few days. We drew most of the decorations on spare poster board we had tucked away in the basement. The kids painted everything using old, nearly dried-out Crayola paint. Despite our meager crafting supplies, our door turned out great! I was so impressed by all of their hard work.
When I decided to participate, winning was not my goal. I just wanted to break up the monotony of our day-to-day life. But I have to say, it was so fun working with the kids every afternoon and seeing their pride in our artwork. Now, I really hope they win. It would be the icing on the cake!
